Clay Bead Strand No. 22

Strung on a single cord, these hand-formed clay beads alternate between pale terracotta and deep charcoal, each one slightly different in size and surface from the last. At the end of the strand, a small hand-formed animal charm. The kind of detail that has appeared in Sejnane work for generations, a signature of the maker's hand rather than the maker's name.

The fine surface cracking on each bead is inherent to the Sejnane process. Not a flaw, but a record of how the piece was made.

Hang it, drape it, coil it on a surface. It works as an object in its own right.
