There is something ancient in this form. The wide flat base, the narrow neck, the handle that rises to meet it — this is the shape of vessels made to carry water across distances, refined over generations into something that no longer needs a function to justify its presence.
The clay is dark, fired to a deep charcoal with traces of ash and mineral that catch light differently at every hour. No two surfaces are alike. This one has the weight of something that has been somewhere. The fine cracking you see across the surface is inherent to the Sejnane process, a natural result of the clay drying and firing without industrial control. It is not a flaw. It is the record of how the piece was made.
