Large Vessel No. 15

This vessel carries two worlds on its surface. The upper body is pale terracotta, warm and mineral, while the base has been painted a deep matte black, a deliberate contrast that grounds the piece visually and speaks to the Sejnane tradition of combining natural clay with hand-applied pigment.

The clay is hand-coiled and unglazed. The fine cracking you see across the surface is inherent to the Sejnane process, a natural result of the clay drying and firing without industrial control. It is not a flaw. It is the record of how the piece was made.
