Large Vessel No. 14

The same form as its counterpart, but the fire left a different mark. Where No. 12 went dark, this vessel held its earth tones — grey, blue, and warm ochre moving across the surface in passages that no maker could have planned. The wide flat base, the narrow neck, the handle that rises to meet it — an ancient shape, made new each time by the unpredictability of the kiln.

The clay is hand-coiled and unglazed. The fine surface cracking is inherent to the Sejnane process. Not a flaw, but a record of how the piece was made.
